I Lost My Gig Canada is seeking volunteers to assist arts and other vulnerable freelance and gig economy workers with support during a time of growing income precarity due to the impacts of COVID-19. Marketing Communications & Outreach (English, French, Indigenous, Other)
Support the ILMG community by creating online content and marketing materials. Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing and communications activities of ILMG as well as creating and implementing a basic outreach plan.
Language Translation & Interpretation (English to French, Indigenous, Other)
Help us spread the message by translating research, reports, surveys, web and online content from English to French, Indigenous, or other languages.
Public Relations (Newspapers, Radio and Television)
Become a public representative for the ILMG community by preparing outreach communications and materials and writing and/or speaking on behalf of the ILMG community in the media including blogs, podcasts, radio, newspapers and televsion.
Social Media Animateur (Moderator, Influencer)
Set the ILMG social media communications standard by encouraging valuable group interactions and keeping our rapidly growing community equitable, kind, non-partisan, and safe. Utilize your own resources and network to amplify the ILMG community hub content.
Graphic & Web Design
Utilize your graphic and web design knowledge, skills, and experience by helping us create engaging visual media for the ILMG website and social media. Help develop and extend the visual branding of ILMG to reach new audiences.
Webmaster
Help us maintain the ILMG website, coordinate the graphic and web designers, and manage the maintenance of ILMG’s online presence.
Research
Contribute to and help maintain ILMG’s growing list of community resources as well as keeping up with the news for issues and solutions regarding COVID-19. Bilingual and multilingual research and engagement is encouraged. Categories of interest include support, advocacy, funding, health/well-being, events, updates from funders and arts services, research/surveys, and education resources within Canada and internationally. Additionally, supporting the research design of surveys and analyzing and communicating the results to the creative industries community and broader general public.
Advocacy
Help us with monitoring sectoral developments and reporting results of ILMG surveys and research. Relay findings to the government, funders, private sector leaders, and other key stakeholders to try and advise on the scope of the problems and issues being faced by the creative industry community. Suggest evaluation of solutions that have been implemented to key stakeholders.
Evaluation
Support ILMG by making sure the ILMG community is responsive and beneficial to broader needs of the creative industry community. Help us with celebrating, empowering, and providing unheard voices with opportunities within the creative industry community.
Mentorship
In a time of physical distancing (i.e. social distancing), there is a need for artists to support each other by share valuable experience, skills, and knowledge. Are you interested in sharing your services, skills, knowledge, and experience to other members in the arts community? If so, we can connect you through the ILMG Mentorship Program.
General Duties
Help us plan for the future of this initiative by gaining insights and seeking recommendations on the next steps. Support our back-end office systems and administration by answering phone and email inquiry communications with members of the creative industry community.
